CASHMERE CARE GUIDE

A few simple habits will keep your cashmere in excellent shape — and in your wardrobe for years to come.

AIRING

Cashmere rarely needs frequent washing. In most cases, airing is enough.
After wearing, let your knit rest and breathe. Place it outside or near an open window for a few hours. Fresh air helps remove odors and allows the fibres to recover.

WASHING

When washing is needed, always choose a gentle approach.

Hand wash:

  • Cold water (max 30°C)
  • Mild wool/cashmere detergent
  • Short wash - avoid long soaking
  • Press water out gently (do not wring or twist)

Machine wash:

  • Wool cycle at 30°C
  • Use a laundry bag
  • Mild wool/cashmere detergent
  • Wash with similar colors
  • Low spin: 600–800 rpm

Avoid fabric softener, as it can damage the fibres. Always wash cashmere separately.

DRYING

Never hang cashmere while wet.

  • Lay flat on a clean towel and let it dry in its natural shape
  • Dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and heat
  • Avoid tumble drying

PILLING

Pilling is normal, especially during the first wears. It occurs when loose fibres come to the surface due to friction.

Use a fabric shaver to gently remove pills. Always work lightly and on a flat surface. Over time, pilling will decrease as the fibres settle.

STORAGE

Store cashmere folded to maintain shape.

  • Keep in a clean, dry place
  • Add cedar balls nearby (without direct contact) to help protect against moths
  • For long-term storage, use breathable cotton bags — avoid plastic - cashmere needs air

Good care is simple: air between wears, wash gently when needed, and store it folded. With a little attention, your cashmere will stay soft, keep its shape, and remain part of your wardrobe for years.
